Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cheap Financial Strategist to join our team at Alliance Resource Group in Newport Beach.

About the Role:

The Chief Financial Strategist will oversee the financial operations of a dynamic professional services firm specializing in project and construction management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial statements, managing the finance team, treasury function, financial and program KPIs, and providing financial insights to support the company's growth and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting: Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  2. Team Management: Oversee the operations of the finance department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
  3. Statutory Requirements: Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including Withholding Payments (CPP, EI), Income Tax, Goods and Services Tax, Employer Health Tax.
  4. Audit Preparation: Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit/review and liaise with the Board's Audit Committee and the external auditors as necessary.
  5. Financial Analysis: Engage in financial analysis of all financial results, and manage the assets and costs of the company.
  6. Accounting Systems: Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
  7. Treasury Management: Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate.
  8. Management Reports: Manage and report on the financial and program level KPIs.
  9. Collaboration: Collaborate with other department leaders for resource planning and management.
  10. Budget Planning: Create annual financial plans and budgets. Deliver updated projections on a quarterly basis.
  11. Financial Support: Assist the President and the Board of Director's with financial reporting as required at Board meetings and the Annual General Meetings.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA or equivalent) preferred but not required.
  • A Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance or Equivalent.
  • 5+ years of progressive financial management experience, preferably in a professional services firm.
  • Strong leadership skills, experience in managing a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in the use of financial management software.

Compensation: We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
