We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to join our team at Addiction Recovery Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and compliant operation of our hospital pharmacy, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and medication management.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and oversee the hospital pharmacy site and its personnel, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Review and verify prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medication, maintaining the highest standards of patient safety.
- Direct pharmacy technicians in assisting with the operation of the pharmacy, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Provide expert advice and information to patients and healthcare workers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of drugs designated as hazardous waste.
- Enter data such as patient name, prescribed medication, and other related information to maintain pharmacy files and inventory.
- Assay medications to determine identity, purity, and strength, ensuring the highest standards of medication quality.
- Instruct interns and other medical personnel on matters pertaining to the pharmacy, promoting knowledge and expertise.
- Communicate effectively with and treat the hospital's patients as needed, providing exceptional patient care.
- Participate in traditional and e-learning programs, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in pharmacy practice.
- Work effectively with other hospital employees, managers, and departments, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Comply with all State and Federal Laws and Regulations, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of pharmacy practice.
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm D) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Degree (BS Pharm) from an accredited institution.
- Active State Pharmacist License, with a strong understanding of pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Practical knowledge of computers, software, and products applicable to the industry, with the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of departmental program structure and department policies and procedures.
- Effective time management skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and supervise others.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster professional working relationships organization-wide.
