Mechanical Design Engineer - Component Development

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing components and subsystems for our forklift products. Your expertise in CAD design, drafting, and engineering analysis will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and functionality. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new designs, improve existing ones, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design 3D CAD models in CATIA and create drawings and BOMs within a PLM database
- Perform engineering analysis to develop solutions involving basic structures, power transmission, hydraulics, fastener joints, and vehicle dynamic and thermal performance
- Create layouts of product designs and perform component and assembly tolerance reviews
- Develop and monitor prototype creation by ordering parts, requesting specific testing, and reviewing test results to ensure proper functioning

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Advanced knowledge in 3D-CAD, ideally CATIA V5
- Minimum of three years of work experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in the manufacturing industry
- Familiarity with ERP systems, such as SAP
- Knowledge of MS Office and other productivity software
Work Environment:
This is a full-time position based in our Houston office. You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products to our customers. While some travel may be required, most work can be performed from our office.
