Lawn Maintenance Crew Member

This position is responsible for planning and executing small-scale landscape maintenance operations on assigned properties. The successful candidate will support the crew to deliver a quality job on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all job-related tasks safely and efficiently, using all tools and equipment in accordance with company safety policy.
- Safely operate and maintain hand and power tools to perform a wide range of landscape and irrigation duties.
- Perform assigned landscape maintenance requirements, including pre-prep and laying of sod, mowing, edging, trimming, watering, fertilizing, detailing ornamental plant material, weed-eating, spraying or pulling weeds, clearing of hard surfaces, and applying mulch.
- Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
- Determine wanted and unwanted vegetation.
- Prepare and grade terrain.
- Install and/or move and transplant trees, shrubs, and other plant material on current maintenance and enhancement jobs and properties.
- Follow installation instructions and plans with the Crew Leader and Operations Manager.
- Assist in loading and unloading equipment, tools, and supplies on truck.
- Comply with the equipment preventative maintenance program and thoroughly clean used equipment and store in designated areas daily.
- Assist in keeping job site, vehicles, trailers, warehouses, and offices safe, clean, and organized.
- Inform supervisor of problem areas on site, equipment, or supply issues, or of any accident or loss.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements, especially in the handling of equipment.
- Work to assure quality and timely completion of all tasks assigned.
- Participate in training programs as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Organized, hardworking, safety-conscious, punctual, leads by example, self-motivated, honest, and customer service-driven.
- Effectively communicates with others, with the ability to read and/or comprehend written and verbal instructions/information. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Education & Experience:
- 1+ years of experience in mowing, pruning, and landscape basics.
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Pre-Screen:
- Upon offer, employees may be required to subject and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
License & Certifications:
- State driver's license with a reasonably clean MVR is encouraged. May be required if needed.
Physical Requirements:
- RARE (less than 10%): Crawling, climbing poles, climbing ladders.
- OCCASSIONAL (up to 33%): Sitting, seeing distant, climbing stairs, lifting over 10lbs to 50lbs.
- FREQUENT (up to 66%): Sense of touch, speaking clearly, climbing on/off truck, reading, hearing - speech range, depth perception, pushing, pulling, balancing, lifting up to 50lbs.
- CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): Walking, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, range of motion, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, gripping, seeing, reaching, color vision, lifting, carrying, lifting up to 10lbs.
Safety:
- Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
