Austin Engineering - STREAMLINE is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate customer standards and determine testing procedures to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Confer with engineers, production personnel, and the Quality Assurance Manager to resolve quality assurance issues.
- Perform dimensional inspections of items such as fit-ups, root gaps, bores, assemblies, and sub-assemblies to ensure accuracy and correctness.
- Approve materials by comparing Material Test Reports (MTR) to material specifications requirements.
- Operate ultra-sonic, magnetic particle testing equipment, and dye-penetrant to verify integrity of welds according to specifications.
- Analyze test results and compare them with specifications to identify any defects or issues.
- Calibrate test instruments according to specifications.
- Exercise technical authority over work in process to ensure it meets specified standards of quality.
- Comply with all applicable safety guidelines and company policies.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in quality assurance or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes and settings, including FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and Air-Arcing.
- Ability to act as a trainer for the power-wave and/or any other welding process used at Austin.
- Understanding of Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) for the development of Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) per AWS D1.1 and other codes as needed.
