The QA Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of products throughout various stages of production. This involves testing and inspecting products, analyzing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to prevent and resolve quality issues.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate customer standards and select testing procedures and equipment to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with Engineers, Production, and Quality Assurance teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Perform dimensional inspections of welds, assemblies, and components using measuring devices.
- Approve materials by comparing Material Test Reports (MTR) to specifications, ensuring proper traceability.
- Perform visual inspections of welds and fabricated items, including painting and material checks.
- Operate testing equipment (ultra-sonic, magnetic particle, dye-penetrant) to verify weld integrity.
- Analyze test results, direct repairs, and record data as required.
- Calibrate instruments and maintain quality standards throughout the production process.
- Administer and evaluate welding tests for new hires and internal reclassifications.
- Provide training on welding processes and troubleshoot welding machine issues.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and professional standards.
- Adaptability and dependability in fast-paced environments.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience preferred.
- AWS or CWI certification is preferred.
- Experience with AWS D1.1, CWI, and ASNT Level II NDT for U.T, P.T, and M.T is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes and testing equipment.
- Must lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing.
- Must have good vision for inspections and operate in noisy environments with exposure to mechanical parts and airborne particles.
- Loud work environment with occasional exposure to outdoor weather and moving mechanical parts.
$34.00 to $38.00 per hour
