Job Overview
The Leidos company is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team. This role will focus on supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of global enterprise networks. Our team provides innovative solutions for modernizing network components while ensuring seamless service delivery.

About the Role
This position involves working with a dynamic team to replace a global enterprise network. Key responsibilities include:
  • Interpreting requirements and applying standard design approaches for service delivery.
  • Fully documenting designs with diagrams, bill of materials, cabling sheets, configurations, and other supporting documents.
  • Evaluating new technologies and capabilities in our private test lab.
  • Scheduling maintenance windows for migrating user connections from legacy to the modern infrastructure transition services.
  • Providing technical expertise to Operations engineers and technicians, supporting fault isolation and resolution.
  • Developing secure network designs aligning with Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and enterprise policies.
  • Supervising other network support specialists to plan, coordinate, and implement network services.
  • Developing and improving design products, processes, and systems for our team's efficient work.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • 10 years of experience in network engineering, including Tier III or higher network operations and/or network design and implementation.
  • Prior responsibility for production network hardware configurations for Cisco, Brocade, and/or Juniper.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and troubleshooting standard routing protocols in a production network, such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) or Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
  • Hands-on experience implementing and troubleshooting standard switching and trunking protocols in a production network, such as Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), 802.1q, and port-channels.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent knowledge.
  • Expert knowledge of routing and switching protocols, demonstrated through briefings and documentation.

Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary range for this position is $72,150 - $130,425 per year. Leidos offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement savings plans, and paid time off.
