MRI Technologist

UofL Health is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain high-quality images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of high magnetic field strength safety protocols.
- Prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with hospital policy and procedure, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Obtain patient history and screening forms, explain routine procedures, and address patient concerns.
- Maintain patient records and files, and perform quality assurance on magnetic resonance scanners as needed.
- Perform procedures to ensure quality patient care in accordance with Radiologists' expectations and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with the National Patient Safety goals.
- Support and report any identified compliance matters.
- Participate in hospital and department quality assurance programs to ensure safety and satisfaction.
- Use standard precautions, including PPE, at all times.
- Contribute to the efficient operation and monitoring of the department, and utilize resources efficiently.
- Graduate of an accredited school of MR Radiologic Technology.
- Previous experience in MRI is preferred.
- Valid Kentucky Radiation Operators License is strongly preferred.
- Possess and maintain certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of employment.
