Job Summary

UofL Health is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain high-quality images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of high magnetic field strength safety protocols.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with hospital policy and procedure, as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Obtain patient history and screening forms, explain routine procedures, and address patient concerns.
  • Maintain patient records and files, and perform quality assurance on magnetic resonance scanners as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Patient Safety goals and support and report any identified compliance matters.
  • Participate in hospital and department quality assurance programs to ensure safety and satisfaction.
  • Use standard precautions, including PPE, at all times.
  • Contribute to the efficient operation and monitoring of the department and utilize resources efficiently.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of MR Radiologic Technology.
  • Previous experience in MRI is preferred.
  • Valid Kentucky Radiation Operators License is strongly preferred.
  • Possess and maintain certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of employment.
