Position Overview

Willingness to travel nationally 50% of the time is essential.

TEKsystems is seeking a dedicated engineer to support a significant project involving the United States Postal Service. Candidates must possess US citizenship. The USPS is actively expanding and enhancing its infrastructure across various locations nationwide.

This role requires expertise in Motorola P25 systems, as the engineer will conduct comprehensive site surveys and mapping to either optimize existing systems or develop new ones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing antenna placements and cable pathways.
  • Creating detailed block diagrams, floor plans, antenna system schematics, and rack layouts.
  • Utilizing software tools such as Visio, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.

The ideal candidate will perform frequency analysis and should have familiarity with PIM, PIP, VHF, UHF, 700 MHz, and 800 MHz frequencies. A solid understanding of IP networking concepts, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, L2/L3, and subnets, is also required.

We are looking for an entry to mid-level engineer who is open to traveling throughout the United States for approximately half of the year.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with both Cellular networks (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc.) and Public Safety communications (Police, Fire, FEMA, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Motorola-specific design practices in Land Mobile Radio (LMR) using AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Excel, Outlook, and Google Docs.

Excellent communication skills are a must, as this role involves collaboration within a dynamic team environment.

This position operates in a fast-paced setting, requiring the ability to engage with clients and deliver effective solutions.

TEKsystems will assist with travel arrangements, including accommodations, transportation, and meal reimbursements.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Remote Work: Initially remote, transitioning to an office environment.

Training Duration: 1 Month
