Job Summary

Vets Hired is seeking a skilled Network Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, install, and troubleshoot VOIP telephony and related systems.
  • Provide technical support for Cisco and Extreme routers, switches, wireless infrastructure, and related network hardware.
  • Monitor the network for outages or inefficiencies and report to senior administrators.
  • Collaborate with Tier 2 and 3 administrators to escalate and resolve complex network issues.
  • Document all actions, issues, and resolutions.
  • Participate in regular training and upskilling sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to ensure the network infrastructure meets organizational needs.
  • Stay current with the latest network technologies and trends and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and issue resolution as needed.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of network protocols, network security, and network infrastructure.
  • Experience with Cisco and Extreme networking devices is a plus.
  • Experience using SolarWinds is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical materials.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Education and Experience

An Associate Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related degree plus one year of experience in a related field is required. Three years experience may be substituted for the Associate's degree requirement.

Must maintain a valid driver's license. Must obtain Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) within 6 months of hire.
