Job Summary

The Network/System Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing local and wide area networks to ensure maximum uptime for network services. This role involves designing network configurations, documenting and managing the installation of new networks, and maintaining and upgrading existing networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Server and Application Development Teams to design and implement functional company networks
  • Establish and maintain digital communication infrastructure, including WAN, wireless, and LAN networks
  • Procure network equipment and manage subcontractors involved with network installation
  • Install and configure enterprise networking hardware, including Cisco and/or AB Stratix Industrial Switches
  • Implement and maintain telephone systems for multi-office enterprises
  • Create and maintain documentation for system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records
  • Monitor and test system performance, preparing and delivering system performance statistics and reports
  • Deal with escalated network support issues
  • Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide system programmers and development teams
Requirements
  • In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems, including SD-WAN, firewalls, routers, and SSL-VPN
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues, and provide solutions for WAN optimization and efficiency
  • Ability to communicate technical information to IT team members and outside departments
  • Ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot wireless networks and security infrastructure
  • Basic knowledge of radio frequencies with Microwave radio systems
  • Experience with implementing and managing VoIP technology in corporate settings
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strong desire to deliver quality technical solutions
  • Highly collaborative team player with the ability to adapt to a changing and fast-paced work environment
  • Cisco CCNA certification preferred
Education and Experience
  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree
  • Preferred: Degree in Computer Science or related field; experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Years of Experience: 3-5 years, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in designing, implementing, and managing wide area networks
