We are seeking a highly skilled Residence Director to join our On-Campus Living team at Johns Hopkins University. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a student-centered community, providing quality services, and enhancing the overall student experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Community Development: Manage the day-to-day operation of assigned residential areas, assess student needs, and develop programming initiatives to promote a positive and inclusive living environment.
  • Staff Supervision: Provide guidance and support to student staff, including training and development opportunities to ensure their success in their roles.
  • Emergency Response: Support primary after-hours emergency coverage, working closely with the Dean of Student Life to address student crises and provide support.
  • Departmental Support: Assist with the supervision and administration of Residential Life department responsibilities, taking on a leadership role in a departmental area such as liaison with other departments, assessment processes, and department-wide programs.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's Degree in Student Personnel or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in Housing/Residential Life, with a preference for Student Affairs work and related experience in Housing and/or Residential Life.
What We Offer

As a Residence Director at Johns Hopkins University, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment, develop your skills in mediation, conflict resolution, and crisis management, and contribute to the development of a student-centered community.

This is a 12-month, full-time position with a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends as required. The selected candidate is required to live-in on campus in designated University housing.
