Product Manager Job Description

At ACDI - Access Control Devices, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Product Manager to join our team. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining product release requirements based on market issues and serving as the internal and external evangelist for our product offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the messenger of the market from the outside-in to the rest of the organization
  • Analyze various market segments and collaborate with leadership to choose the best options for ACDI to pursue
  • Develop a three-year roadmap for our products to illustrate our vision and plan into the future
  • Develop and maintain a business proposal that makes a compelling case for continued investment into our products
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders such as product marketing on the creation of positioning for our products
  • Create user stories for current and future products based on the market's issues, directions, and trends
  • Manage the entire product line life cycle from sunsetting legacy products to prototyping and testing new features/products and ideas
  • Review potential partner relationships for the product using free and paid analysis sources
  • Know why we are winning and losing in the market and drive changes to our product and processes to create improvement
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of our competition and develop strategies and tactics to reduce any potential threats
  • Oversee and assist in process documentation/workflows knowledge articles and self-service guidance
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Consistently communicates progress, obstacles, and growth opportunities within our product launches
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Maintains a complete understanding of and adhere to all ACDI policies, procedures, and processes
  • Maintain a positive organizational culture while upholding ACDI's mission, vision, and core values

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or computer science and a minimum of 2 years of experience with business operations or product development or the equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decision-making
  • Curious and comfortable holding professional conversations with our target buyers and users
  • Must be a strong writer and public speaker in front of small and large groups
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties
  • Subject matter expert/industry experience is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with Google and Zoho applications sets you apart
  • Experience in creating virtual machines, setting up networks, and other general IT-related skills is essential
  • Experience presenting to executive-level management preferred
  • Strong professional communication skills (via phone, email, and in-person) problem-solving, negotiation skills, technical capacity, project management, and collaboration
  • Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive company or team information

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds
  • Ability to travel up to 15% annually or as needed and fly on a commercial airliner if needed
  • May be required to furnish a passport or other identity documents for international travel

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position will indirectly lead multiple teams, departments, and individuals as needs arise.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise level
  • Moderate noise level bullpen environment located at ACDI headquarters unless otherwise approved by upper management team
  • Fast-paced and extremely positive
  • Employee may be required to furnish adequate internet services, mobile services, and devices necessary to receive business communications continually
