We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Wound Care Specialist at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for directing agency-wide initiatives for pressure ulcer prevention, wound care, and ostomy care.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Conduct Educational Programs: Create and deliver educational programs and clinical instruction for Emory Healthcare staff and students enrolled in Emory University's Wound Ostomy Continence Education Program.
- Provide Advanced Clinical Guidance: Offer expert guidance to physicians and nursing staff regarding the management of complex wounds, fistulas, moisture management, and pressure ulcers.
- Determine Appropriate Nursing Interventions: Identify and recommend nursing interventions for patient problems, symptoms, and teaching needs related to wound and ostomy care.
- Recommend Equipment and Materials: Suggest the necessary equipment, materials, and resources needed to implement a wound or ostomy care plan.
- Perform Pre-Operative Stoma Site Marking and Ostomy Education: Conduct pre-operative stoma site marking and provide ostomy education to patients and their families.
- Develop and Conduct Post-Operative Ostomy Education: Create and deliver post-operative ostomy education and care plans for patients and their families.
- Valid Nursing License: Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
- Healthcare Provider BLS Certification: Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification is required.
- Recent Registered Nursing Experience: Two years of recent (within the past five years) Registered Nursing experience is required.
- WOC Nursing Education Program: Completion of an accredited WOC Nursing Education program is required.
- Certification in Wound Care and Ostomy Care: Must achieve certification in Wound Care and Ostomy Care within 12 months.
- Previous Experience in Wound and Ostomy Care: Previous experience in Wound and Ostomy care is preferred.
