Position Overview

The Anesthesia Technician plays a crucial role in the surgical team by ensuring the availability and functionality of anesthesia equipment. This position involves a variety of responsibilities that support anesthesia providers throughout the surgical process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and upkeep of anesthesia tools and materials, providing essential support to anesthesia professionals before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels of supplies, placing orders as necessary, and effectively communicating any supply-related concerns to the anesthesia team.
  • Review the operating room schedule to determine the necessary equipment for upcoming procedures.
  • Prepare the operating room for the anesthesiologist, ensuring all equipment is set up and ready for use.
  • Calibrate monitoring devices to ensure accurate readings during surgeries.
  • Support the anesthesiologist in preparing anesthesia equipment for each surgical case.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience is defined as the ability to acquire, prepare, set up, and maintain anesthesia equipment for both routine and complex surgical procedures.
  • Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Technology program.
