Veterinary Technician

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Overnight Emergency and Critical Care department.
This is a part-time position for Saturday shifts, offering a competitive hourly rate of $51.00, with opportunities for advancement through our CareerTrax leveling system.
Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience. We also offer shift differential pay for eligible hours worked on nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:- Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, utilizing anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
- Triage emergency cases, obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
- Perform digital radiography using proper technique, including patient positioning.
- Have a complete understanding of normal patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
- Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting veterinarians to changes and issues.
- Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
- Properly calculate medical math and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
- Be proficient in phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
- Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
- Have a passion for mentoring and training other coworkers.
- Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
