Auto Paint Technician Job Description

Classic Collision is seeking a skilled Auto Paint Technician to join our team. As an Auto Paint Technician, you will be responsible for refinishing vehicles to their pre-accident condition, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Refinish vehicles to pre-accident condition, following written work-orders and adhering to Classic SOPs, insurance partner, and OEM industry guidelines.
  • Prepare color tint to match paint color, mix paint colors, and ensure all formulations, preparations, top coating, and curing meet OEM recommended standards.
  • Follow all paint manufacturing guidelines and assist in prep work when necessary.
  • Ensure all paint operations are complete, all masking is removed, and all prior paint-related disassembly has been reassembled prior to returning the vehicle to the body technician.
  • Adhere to all regulatory compliance guidelines for hazardous waste disposal.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized work area.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid Driver's License Required.
  • 2-5 years automotive refinishing experience.
  • I-CAR certification preferred.
  • Comply with all safety requirements, respirator safety, and fitment/usage. Maintain compliance to pass required safety mask fit test.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Successful completion of background check required.

Physical & Environmental:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and is required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and walk occasionally for long periods at a time. The employee may occasionally be required to reach with hands, and arms and move objects up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, abilities for assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned are required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
