Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at BHOM Student Living. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical aspects of our properties meet our established standards and applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner

• Diagnose and repair issues in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, swimming pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural, and appliances

• Ensure work order requests are completed promptly and efficiently

• Provide excellent customer service to prospective and current tenants, promoting a quality living experience for all residents

• Use Siteplan to schedule and perform emergency maintenance work as required

• Inspect buildings and grounds to ensure safety and cleanliness, alerting maintenance to items that need repair

• Assist supervisor with scheduling and communicating with vendors and contractors

• Participate in Company-provided training, including fair housing, safety, non-discrimination, and harassment prevention

• Comply with all company standards, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent required (college hours preferred)

• 1 year of electrical, painting, drywall, and plumbing experience

• Must be available for night/weekend call duty

• May require one or more of the following certifications: EPA Certification, Type I and II, HVAC Certification, CPO Certification (pool), or other licenses and/or certifications as required by state law

Work Environment

The physical requirements of this role include the ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach forward and overhead, and grasp. Must be able to bend, crouch or stoop. Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. and push and pull up to 100 lbs. with mechanical assistance. Must have close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, and occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The ability and means to travel locally, overnight, in specific regions or states via automobile and airplane may be required.
