Job Title: Student Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Student Support Specialist to join our team at New York Institute of Technology.

Job Summary:

The Student Support Specialist will provide administrative support to the Dean of Students Office, including managing certifications, health withdrawals, and other administrative processes. The successful candidate will also provide support to the Student Life Office, including the Dean, Associate Dean, and other staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with managing the Dean of Students Office functions, including Dean's Certifications, health withdrawals, and other administrative processes.
  • Provide support to the Student Life Office, including the Dean, Associate Dean, and other staff.
  • Assist with Student Life traditions, large-scale programs, and events.
  • Oversee room reservations, contracts, and purchasing.
  • Manage the on-campus food pantry, the Grizzly Cupboard, and serve on the Bear Bytes Committee.
  • Manage the day-to-day functions for the Office of Student Life, including physical spaces, supply inventory, and supervision of student staff in the reception area and front-end operations.
  • Oversee the Social Media presence for the Office of Student Life and the Dean of Students.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, critical thinking, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to accommodate adjusting priorities.
  • Must be able to show discretion when managing confidential information and complex concerns by students, families, faculty, and others.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office products; knowledge of student information systems is preferable.
