Payroll Specialist

The Skagit Casino Resort is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our human resources department, you will be responsible for owning all aspects of payroll operations, including processing bi-weekly payrolls, preparing tax reports, and supervising the Lead Payroll Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process multi-property bi-weekly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual tax reports, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise the Lead Payroll Assistant, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Maintain payroll and timecard databases, producing standard and custom reports using Cognos and WFM.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of all quarterly and annual tax reports.
  • Understand the flow of payroll data to the general ledger, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with employees, management, and external partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and industry best practices, applying knowledge to improve payroll processes.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree or certifications in applicable field preferred.
  • At least four years of experience in a similar position, including experience with payroll systems at a comparably sized operation.
  • Proven skills in relationship building, critical thinking, and verbal/written communication.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, adapting to changing situations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in personal computers, specifically Windows, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Excel.
