Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Cell Supervisor is accountable for ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of the production cell. This role is pivotal in meeting delivery targets while maintaining high-quality standards in accordance with the production timeline. The supervisor will lead and inspire team members, fostering effective communication and promoting a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion all safety protocols. Conduct regular safety inspections, enforce safety regulations, and ensure comprehensive training for all staff on safe operational practices.
  • Enhance operational excellence by performing routine 5S audits, maintaining cleanliness standards, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee the quality output of the production cell, leading self-inspection processes and managing material reviews for any rejected items. Facilitate quality training to ensure all necessary resources are available for achieving first-time quality.
  • Direct the daily operations of the manufacturing cell by leading daily meetings focused on achieving production goals. Analyze cell metrics weekly to present results and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Address personnel matters promptly, conduct daily safety briefings, manage employee performance reviews, and maintain attendance records. Collaborate with Human Resources to resolve employee-related issues.
  • Support the enforcement of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, ensuring compliance and understanding the supervisor's role in the grievance process.

Qualifications:

Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a dynamic manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
  • High degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Proven ability to mentor team members and perform well under pressure.
  • Goal-oriented with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
