Job Overview
Geisinger seeks a skilled Paramedic to join our Central Region Emergency Medical Services Team in Orangeville, Pennsylvania. As a Critical Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in enhancing community advanced life support services.

Responsibilities
• Respond promptly as dispatched within our defined geographic coverage area to provide critical care services.
• Adhere to all Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Laws to ensure safe transportation of patients and personnel.
• Perform patient assessments, obtain historical data, and convey crucial findings via two-way communications systems to the Medical Commander.
• Deliver patient care within the scope of practice and in accordance with regional triage, treatment, and transfer protocols.
• Assume control position at scenes of pre-hospital patient encounters, providing direction to primary response personnel as needed.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment surveys at the onset of each tour and after patient encounters, contributing to maintaining preparedness for response.
• Perform routine equipment and vehicle checks at shift changes, utilizing proper documentation practices.
• Complete written reports detailing the outcome of each dispatch and submit patient encounter reports at destination facilities and base locations.
• Participate in the orientation of newly hired personnel and provide preceptorships as assigned for new team members, students, and volunteers.
• Share housekeeping duties with other crew members and contribute to patient safety improvement initiatives.
• Identify potential processes or systems that could lead to errors or adverse events and report serious incidents according to established hospital policy.
• Maintain awareness of organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and education programs related to assigned duties.

Requirements
• Graduation from a Specialty Training Program (required)
• Valid Driver's License and Emergency Medical Services Vehicle Operator certification

Compensation and Benefits
We offer an estimated annual salary range of $65,000 to $85,000 based on experience and location. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision coverage, starting on day one.
