We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Meat Associate to join our team at SpartanNash. As a Meat Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality meat products are prepared, packaged, and displayed for our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and produce meat products to meet production planner requirements
- Package and label meat products according to program plans
- Merchandise meat products to meet flight plan and merchandising expectations
- Stock backroom with meat products, rotating and dating cases and buckets
- Notify the Meat Manager of product and supply needs
- Collaborate with other departments and stores to achieve growth in our SpartanNash Retail stores
- Perform basic mathematical calculations and communicate tasks, recipes, weights, and measures to other associates
- Follow all PPE and safety guidelines, food safety and cleaning expectations, and guest experience guidelines
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year of retail or related experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
- Basic mathematical skills
- Detail-oriented
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures) and is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
