Adjunct Nursing Instructor

The School of Nursing at Maine's Public Universities is seeking applications for anticipated openings for Adjunct Nursing Instructors. These roles will involve delivering clinical education to nursing students enrolled in the baccalaureate program. The scheduling of courses may vary based on specific lab or clinical requirements.
Responsibilities
Instructors will be responsible for orienting, teaching, supervising, grading, and assessing nursing students. Clinical groups may consist of up to 8 students, while lab sessions can accommodate 12-16 students, and lectures typically involve 30-35 students.
Each course will have a designated Course Lead Faculty member who will act as the subject matter expert, guiding and mentoring fellow instructors, organizing the syllabus, and ensuring uniformity across course sections.
Teaching Opportunities
Instructors may be assigned to various courses, including but not limited to:
- Health Assessment Lab - 1 credit
- Nursing Fundamentals Lab - 2 credits
- Intermediate Nursing Skills/Simulation Lab - 1 credit
- Junior Medical/Surgical Clinical - 4 credits
- Mental Health Nursing Lecture - 3 credits
- Pediatric & Maternity Skills/Simulation Lab - 2 credits
- Reproductive Health Nursing Clinical - 2 credits
- Pediatric Nursing Lecture - 3 credits

Compensation and Benefits

Qualifications
- BSN or equivalent degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Active nursing license in Maine or a relevant compact state
- Ability to meet employment requirements, including background checks and certifications
- Proficiency in entry-level nursing skills with recent clinical experience
