Job Title: Adjunct Instructor in the Graduate School of Counseling

Job Summary:

We are seeking qualified adjunct instructors to teach in our Graduate School of Counseling programs. As an adjunct instructor, you will have the opportunity to teach a variety of courses in clinical mental health counseling, marriage, couple, and family counseling, school counseling, and school psychology.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses in the Graduate School of Counseling programs, including clinical mental health counseling, marriage, couple, and family counseling, school counseling, and school psychology.
  • Develop and implement course syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to students in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of student work and attendance.
  • Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Grade and return student work in a timely manner.
  • Counsel students as needed on their performance and progress in the course.
  • Use the Canvas learning management system for all course work.
  • Remain up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology.
  • Stay informed about changes and innovations in your field.
  • Adhere to GSC and GFU policy guides.

Qualifications:

  • M.A. plus 2 years post-graduate clinical/field experience; or Ph.D. in a relevant field required.
  • Licensed/certified practitioners preferred.
  • A commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
  • All applicants must express a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a local church. In addition, professors agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.
  • Candidates must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S.
  • Employees of George Fox University must be a resident of one of the following states: Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or Texas.
