Position Overview: The role of the Store Opening Specialist involves supporting the Store Opening Coordinator in all facets of launching new retail locations. This position plays a crucial part in constructing displays and organizing merchandise; overseeing the flow of products on the sales floor, arranging areas to align with the new store layout, and efficiently executing tasks within set timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively implement store design plans by optimizing the available space.
- Ensure that product deliveries are correctly positioned on the sales floor for optimal merchandising and presentation.
- Adhere to daily and weekly schedules for display assembly, unloading shipments, tagging, and merchandising.
- Maintain communication with both internal and external stakeholders to keep projects on track.
- Uphold a clean and safe working environment.
- Collaborate closely with fellow Associates to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Apply the company's merchandising standards consistently.
- Regularly update your supervisor on task progress and any unresolved issues.
- Fulfill any additional duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience in retail design or spatial planning is preferred.
- A Bachelor's Degree in management is advantageous.
- At least 1 year of retail experience in a supervisory capacity within a medium to large retail service-oriented environment, or demonstrated skills through an internal development program.
- Capability to operate all necessary equipment for the role.
- Must be physically able to stand for long periods and manage boxes of merchandise and fixtures.
- Tasks may often require the use of ladders and stairs.
- Frequent standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling is necessary.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must maintain a constant state of alertness and operate safely.
- Travel to new store locations, including overnight stays, is required.
- Frequent lifting of up to 70 lbs is necessary.
