Job Summary

The Alexandria City Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified Instrumental Music Teacher to join our team. As an instrumental music teacher, you will be responsible for facilitating student success in academic and interpersonal skills by implementing district-approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress, and addressing specific educational needs of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Implementation: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students, ensuring a safe and optimal learning environment.
  • Student Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and communicate with parents and administration regarding student achievements and areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Certifications and Licenses: Valid Virginia Department of Education license with an endorsement in Music: Instrumental PreK-12, or eligibility to obtain one.
Clearances and Compliance
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance: Must undergo a thorough background check and obtain clearance.
  • Tuberculosis Skin Test: Must undergo regular TB skin tests as required by the school district.
