Duke Health is seeking a skilled Pediatric Surgery Nurse to join our team at Duke University Hospital. As a Pediatric Surgery Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing compassionate care to infants, children, and adolescents undergoing surgical procedures.

About the Pediatric Surgery OR

The Pediatric Surgery Operating Room at Duke University Hospital is a dedicated surgical unit specializing in caring for young patients. Our team is highly trained in addressing the unique medical needs of children, ensuring family-centered care and the highest level of safety and comfort during procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures
  • Collaborate with the pediatric surgical team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care
  • Participate in preoperative preparation, including child-friendly educational activities and techniques to ease anxiety
  • Contribute to post-operative care, focusing on pain management, comfort, and family involvement

Requirements

  • Current registration with the North Carolina State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse OR current compact RN licensure to practice in the state of North Carolina
  • BLS (or higher) certification required
  • Professional specialty certification (preferred)
