This role involves performing both routine and specialized MRI examinations, adapting procedures to achieve specific diagnostic outcomes under the guidance of a radiologist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Excellence: Conduct MRI procedures that guarantee accurate and comprehensive examinations, adhering to the established guidelines and standards of Medical Imaging.
- Patient Care: Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process, utilizing appropriate measures such as earplugs.
- Image Evaluation: Assess completed images to confirm proper identification and quality before submission to radiologists.
- Equipment Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of MRI equipment operation, including troubleshooting and safety checks.
- Departmental Support: Assist in the efficient operation of the MRI/Medical Imaging Department by preparing images and paperwork promptly, transporting patients as needed, and accurately entering patient data into the system.
- Training and Development: Take responsibility for mentoring fellow technologists and students in MRI procedures.
Qualifications:
- Licenses/Certifications: CPR/BLS, State License for Radiology Technologist, ARRT certification in MRI and Radiography.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to handle weights ranging from 50-100 lbs.
