Job Responsibilities:
  • This role is part of the Precision Genomics Targeted Library Creation team.
  • Collaborate with a large team of full-time employees and contractors to meet daily and weekly genotyping objectives under strict timelines.
  • Engage in various manual and automated tasks within laboratory settings.
  • Focus on sample preparation, manual DNA extraction, and Infinium preparation for the Fingerprint Lab, along with Library Preparation for SKIM sequencing, all supporting our high-density genotyping platform.
  • Handle tasks related to shipping and receiving, inventory management, and compliance with seed storage regulations.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs is required.

Reliability:
  • This position is essential for maintaining laboratory operations seven days a week across multiple shifts. The candidate must demonstrate consistent reliability.
  • Flexibility in working hours may be necessary during peak periods.
High Throughput and Sample Management:
  • Our laboratories process millions of samples annually with rapid turnaround times. Experience in managing large volumes of samples or working in fast-paced environments is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or automation is a plus.
Technical Aptitude:
  • The candidate should be adept at operating and troubleshooting automation independently with minimal supervision.
  • Individuals with a background in biology and engineering or technical skills are encouraged to apply.
