Job Overview:

RPM ReSearch is seeking a highly skilled and experienced veterinarian to lead our laboratory animal care team as the Director of Laboratory Animal Medicine in Reno, Nevada.

About the Position:

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the health and welfare of all research animals in our state-of-the-art facility. This includes conducting daily observations, documenting clinical findings, and addressing any signs of discomfort or distress. You will also oversee a team of 6 Clinical Veterinarians and ensure strict adherence to company, industry, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 6 Clinical Veterinarians and provide vital oversight of our surgical programs.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethics in all interactions with colleagues, management, and external partners.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have a Doctoral degree (D.V.M./V.M.D.) in Veterinary Medicine and a Master's degree (M.S.) in a relevant discipline related to laboratory animal medicine. A minimum of 8-10 years of related experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that meets or exceeds the specified requirements. A current license to practice veterinary medicine in at least one state is also necessary.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $190,000 - $230,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
