Newborn Hearing Screener

This position involves conducting newborn hearing screening tests on infants in the University of Virginia's well-baby, transitional, and NICU nurseries. The tests are automated auditory brainstem response and otoacoustic emission testing, which are monitored by a clinical audiologist.
The screener is responsible for reporting test results to the audiology supervisor and attending physicians, as well as tracking and documenting test results for infants requiring follow-up testing.
The ideal candidate will have a high school degree or equivalent and completed newborn hearing screening training with a clinical audiologist. Basic computer skills and knowledge of word processing are also required.
Responsibilities:- Conduct newborn hearing screening tests
- Report test results to audiology supervisor and attending physicians
- Track and document test results for infants requiring follow-up testing
- Maintain accurate records and data
- High school degree or equivalent
- Completed newborn hearing screening training with a clinical audiologist
