This is an open continuous job announcement, and additional certificates will be issued as necessary. Recruitment and/or relocation incentives may be authorized if found in the best interest of the Government.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform advanced planning and design work, with responsibility for preliminary and final designs in pavements, foundations, and geotechnical work associated with large and highly complex Military projects.
  2. Personally perform or function as team leader on such projects as multiple and continuous span highway and railroad bridges, roadway and airfield pavements, piers, utilities, hospitals, and other buildings and recreational facilities.
  3. Serve as Unit Leader for a staff of approximately three to five, and as the point of contact for day-to-day work coming into and leaving the Unit.
  4. Plan and schedule ongoing production, adjust work procedures to accommodate resource allocation, and improve work methods and procedures used to produce work products.
  5. Evaluate the technical adequacy of data, criteria, recommendations, and conclusions presented, as well as the methods of analysis used by subordinates.
  6. Make field reconnaissance trips for orientation as to various topographical and environmental features relating to certain projects.
  7. Investigate geotechnical problems, relating to construction, modification, maintenance, and rehabilitation of structures.
  8. Participate in conferences with outside agencies to outline concepts of design of existing Federal structures and facilities and to explore alternative solutions to problems introduced by the construction of the proposed facility.

To qualify for this position, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
