Executive Director, DC Region

Rocketship Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our DC region. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for setting the strategic vision for our region, driving student achievement, and building strong relationships with our community partners.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the DC region, aligned with Rocketship's 5-Year Plan
- Lead and manage a team of educators, community engagement specialists, and other staff members to achieve student achievement goals and build strong relationships with community partners
- Collaborate with the National Leadership Team and Network Support Teams to ensure that our schools are receiving and optimizing critical areas of support and expertise
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with neighborhood stakeholders, community associations, and local elected officials
- Recruit, appoint, manage, and engage regional DC Board members and execute quarterly board meetings
- 10+ years of professional experience in nonprofit management, with a proven track record of success improving outcomes within their scope of management
- Experience and successful track record of managing, coaching, and developing team members
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and bring out the best in peers
- Experience in partnering with nonprofit Board of Directors
- Highly proficient in business and financial management
- Demonstrated success with fundraising with both private donors and government entities at the federal, state, or local level
