Job Overview: Marblehead Corp. is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer Specialist to join our team. This role requires a strong background in civil engineering, with a focus on highway and stormwater management. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, effective communication abilities, and a passion for public service.

Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of the Town Engineer to coordinate the preparation of engineering plans and specifications.
  • Monitor the progress of construction projects and document improvements using Town-approved software.
  • Assist with MS4 Permit requirements, perform inspections, and maintain records of stormwater facilities.
  • Serve as a competent person for DPW crew work and provide guidance to contractors and consultants.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily progress, controversies, and other relevant information.
  • Perform site inspections, witness testing of pipelines, and ensure workmanship meets standards.
  • Oversee assigned projects, inspect work for compliance with plans and specifications, and measure completed work.
  • Review subdivision plans, prepare cost estimates, and contract documents for consulting and engineering services.
  • Aid in the update of GIS databases, respond to public inquiries, and research municipal properties and projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Engineer in Training Certification required; valid Massachusetts Driver's License also necessary.
  • Extensive computer experience, including AutoCAD, GIS, Excel, MS Project, and database programs.

Salary: Estimated $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on location and industry standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Regularly required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently exposed to variable outdoor weather conditions and hazards associated with construction sites.
