Beverage Support Specialist

Under the supervision of the Food & Beverage Supervisor, the Beverage Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting Bartenders, enabling them to concentrate on delivering exceptional service to guests. By collaborating with team members in operational tasks, and aiding in welcoming guests while maintaining cleanliness and stock levels at the bars, the Beverage Support Specialist enhances the efficiency of Bartenders and Cocktail Servers in their duties.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensures bar stations are consistently stocked with necessary supplies (ice, mixers, garnishes, napkins, straws, etc.). Covers for other Beverage Support Specialists during breaks. Responsible for trash disposal throughout the shift and at the end of the shift. Maintains cleanliness of bar surfaces, including wiping down reach-ins and beer coolers to prevent condensation, cleaning garnish trays as needed, and ensuring all mix containers and alcohol bottles are wiped down at the end of each shift. Keeps the floors tidy and collects any debris. Prepares fruit garnishes for service and assists Bartenders in mixing and preparing bulk beverage recipes for high-volume sales.

2. Aids Bartenders in welcoming new guests and taking drink orders. May also be tasked with serving drinks and processing payments.

3. Safety Protocols:

Practices hand hygiene after handling waste, dirty dishes, or cleaning ashtrays.

Ensures cleanliness of workstations for the next shift. Maintains a high level of safety awareness: seeks assistance when necessary; lifts items correctly; keeps pathways clear when moving loads; wears appropriate footwear. Evaluates load weights and requests help from supervisors when needed. Exercises caution around hot equipment (such as cappuccino machines and coffee urns). Reports any issues or concerns to the supervisor promptly. Maintains a clean, organized, and prepared workspace and surrounding areas.

4. Performs additional tasks as assigned to support the effective operation of the department.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least three (3) months of relevant experience or training is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Possesses a warm, welcoming, and engaging demeanor suitable for an entertainment environment.
  • Exhibits excellent customer service and communication skills.
Licenses/Certifications
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license as per the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission's discretion.
  • Must secure and maintain a current Food Handler's Card within 90 days of employment.
  • Required to obtain and maintain T.I.P.S Certification upon employment.
