The ideal candidate should possess:
- Over 6 years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Experience in ground-up commercial projects
- Including sectors such as retail, light industrial, self-storage, distribution, cold-storage, mixed-use, data centers, and life sciences.
- A proven track record of stable employment history.
- Willingness to travel regionally or nationally based on project needs.
- Current employment with a medium to large general contracting firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend post-award meetings to gather project details for pre-construction planning.
- Collaborate with the project manager to develop a comprehensive construction schedule and determine staffing and equipment needs.
- Oversee the entire construction process to ensure compliance with specifications and timelines while maximizing profitability.
- Assist project managers and engineers in expediting material shipments and securing approvals for shop drawings and material samples.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure effective integration with project schedules.
- Promptly inform supervisors and subcontractors of any changes to the construction schedule.
- Help prepare job progress and cost reports to accurately reflect actual expenditures.
- Review and authorize all requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, and significant project documentation.
- Maintain open communication with the owner and their representatives regarding construction progress.
- Work collaboratively with architects and owner representatives, prioritizing the long-term interests of the company.
- Conduct job site meetings with the project manager and regional manager.
- Regularly report to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential issues affecting costs or schedules.
- Keep a daily log to document significant project events, conditions, and communications.
- Ensure strict adherence to the company's safety protocols throughout all project phases.
