About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our systems engineering team at Raytheon. In this role, you will provide technical direction and design support to software agile development teams and other engineering personnel. Your expertise in systems engineering development lifecycle using Agile methodology will be essential in defining system interfaces and acceptance criteria.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design and develop software
  • Provide technical information and clarification throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Perform solution decomposition from customer epics to capabilities, features, and stories according to SAFe Agile practices
  • Apply systems engineering expertise to feature designs to reduce overall risk to the software development effort
  • Engage with subject matter experts from other disciplines to fully understand solutions and document designs

Requirements:

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years of relevant experience
  • Active TS/SCI U.S. government-issued security clearance and U.S. citizenship required prior to start date
  • Demonstrated systems engineering and technical experience with software systems development
  • Experience in agile software development activities, including system-level design specification and integration testing and verification activities
  • Familiarity with common GEOINT still imagery data formats and experience working in cloud or cloud-hybrid deployment environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with streaming data formats, strong communications skills, and engineering experience working in the full software development lifecycle
  • Experience using MBSE processes and tools, domain experience with active data types supported by NSGPDDs, and thorough understanding of the 12 Factor App concepts for service development
  • Strong experience with Confluence as a communication medium and ability to interact effectively with customer and consumer communities

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary range for this role is $96,000 - $200,000 per year.
