Courthouse Deputy Sheriff

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Courthouse Deputy Sheriff. As a key member of our Judicial Services Section, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our courthouse and community.

• Provide security and enforcement services at the courthouse, including courtroom security, lockup control center, contraband screening, and transportation.
• Service of court papers, warrant execution, community engagement, and general law enforcement duties within the City of Alexandria.
• Work collaboratively with other law enforcement agencies and courthouse staff to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest law enforcement techniques and procedures.

• Currently certified by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) as a Law Enforcement Officer.
• At least eight years of experience in law enforcement, with a strong background in security and enforcement.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform the duties of the position, including standing for long periods and responding to emergency situations.
