Position Overview

Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania is seeking applications for a temporary full-time faculty role within the Department of Biological and Health Sciences. This position is designed for the full academic year and is an excellent opportunity for those passionate about teaching and advancing the field of biology.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering both lecture and discussion components of the Biol208 Human Genetics and Biol209 Genetics courses throughout the academic year. Additionally, the faculty member will assist in instructing laboratory sections of Cell Biology (Biol211) in the fall semester, with potential involvement in Biol211 or Biol110 laboratory sections in the spring semester. All courses will be conducted in person.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Biology or a related field, or a Master's in Education with a minimum of 30 graduate-level biology credits.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least two years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level in relevant courses.
  • Experience in teaching laboratory courses.
  • Advanced degree in a specialty related to the course content.
  • Research experience or background that supports the knowledge required for teaching responsibilities.
