Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and refine essential sections of grant proposals, contracts, subcontracts, and reports as necessary. This includes administrative components, budget justifications, and descriptions of resources and environments, in collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Create and enhance intricate content for proposals, including peer-reviewed publications, research grants, and additional program activities.
  • Keep relevant administrative personnel informed about the status of submissions when proposals are approved, preparing for the human resource and financial aspects of the post-award phase. Lead efforts to collaborate with research teams to ensure timely and appropriate expenditure of funds, minimizing the risk of funding loss.
  • Facilitate external funding opportunities by working closely with the Research Development Coordinator to identify and track funding sources and submission deadlines, utilizing tools such as SPIN and NIH Guides, while aligning funding opportunities with faculty and staff expertise.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in grants administration or a related field is essential.
  • At least one year of demonstrated experience in writing and editing professional articles.
  • Progressive experience in advanced research planning and proposal writing within academic or industry settings is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles and methodologies related to grants and contracts.
  • Experience in interpreting and advising on federal financial regulations is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with grant program award criteria is essential.
  • Proven track record in securing new federal funding opportunities and fostering relevant partnerships.
