About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to fill a travel contract position in the Critical Care Unit/Intensive Care Unit (CRCU/ICU) at a hospital in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care nursing and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring patient care plans, monitoring and recording patient condition, and serving as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and record patient condition, communicating effectively with the healthcare team as needed.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH).
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification.
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Passionate about patient care.

  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills through ongoing education and training.
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs to stay current with best practices.
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and service excellence.
  • Ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving expertise.
  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential for success in this role.
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
