Position Overview

The Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams at TE Connectivity are pivotal in ensuring that our products and production systems meet customer and contractual standards through established reliability metrics.

Our engineers are tasked with designing, recommending modifications, and implementing quality control systems. They develop and document analytical methods to assess product reliability and conduct thorough analyses regarding cost, structure, weight, maintainability, production feasibility, and material availability.

Our teams are also responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. They recommend corrective actions when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and oversee quality plans for designated value streams.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at quality improvement.
  • Facilitate problem-solving sessions utilizing methodologies such as 8D.
  • Drive proactive measures to avert quality issues.
  • Enhance work instructions and deliver training sessions.
  • Review and approve First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
  • Provide assistance during Design Reviews.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality and Purchasing teams to resolve supplier-related quality challenges.
  • Ensure effective management of nonconforming materials and lead Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
  • Report on quality issues and the status of corrective action plans.
  • Coordinate product and process changes while maintaining quality documentation.
  • Plan and execute process and product audits.
  • Address customer complaints effectively, including containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Support customer audits through coordination and communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, focusing on quality assurance and engineering.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven experience in team development and coordination.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, with experience in 8D and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Hands-on experience with FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 & AS9100 standards, including auditing experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GD&T.
  • Experience in electro-mechanical testing and high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Background in the aviation, aerospace, and defense sectors.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement practices and Shainin methodology.
  • Supervisory experience and Six Sigma Black Belt certification are preferred.
  • ASQ certification and knowledge of SAP are advantageous.
