Position Overview

This role is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of patient rooms, communal areas, and corridors.

REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Supervisor

REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess the ability to read and comprehend Standard English.

Must interact tactfully and effectively with patients, families, colleagues, and visitors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Capable of standing for 7-8 hours daily.

Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and climb as required by the job.

Must be able to lift 20 to 25 pounds frequently.

Occasionally lift 50 to 75 pounds.

Occasionally move heavy furniture weighing 75 to 100 pounds.

Must have adequate vision, hearing, and communication skills to fulfill job responsibilities.

Ability to work with standard cleaning agents safely.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following tasks are determined by the center and may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Sanitize patient bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, tubs, and showers.
  2. Dispose of waste in patient rooms, bathrooms, activity areas, and other locations throughout the facility.
  3. Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms, including mopping and/or buffing floors, and dusting furniture both above and below.
  4. Ensure hallways are clean by sweeping debris, mopping, stripping, and buffing in accordance with company and center policies.
  5. Clean walls, furniture, and equipment as necessary to create a welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  6. Adhere to safety protocols when using chemical cleaning agents.
  7. Follow established cleaning schedules diligently.
  8. Perform additional duties as assigned.
