Job Overview
Ryder System, a leading logistics company, is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Technician to join our team in San Diego. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.

Competitive Salary
The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of $1325.20 per week, or $33.13 per hour, with opportunities for quarterly bonuses up to $500 and certification bonuses up to $700. Our comprehensive compensation package also includes a tool allowance and boot allowance.

About the Role
This full-time position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with vocational or technical certification preferred. You will have a proven aptitude in mechanical repair, including routine preventative maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire work. A valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A is also required, with the ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire.

Responsibilities
* Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties
* Performs standard vehicle maintenance, including routine checks and repairs
* Conducts standard component inspections and repairs
* Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
* Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required
* Replaces defective components as instructed
* Performs facility maintenance duties

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* 2+ years of experience in heavy duty diesel repair, with a combination of classroom training and work experience
* Basic tools, required
* Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
