The Security Operations Site Supervisor (SOSS) plays a vital leadership role within the Amazon Security Operations Team.

This leader promotes a culture of inclusion and diversity.The SOSS reports to the Regional Security Operations Manager and assists in supporting operational teams as well as collaborating with various cross-functional teams throughout the organization.
Depending on the role, this position may include direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance, monitor, and report on key performance indicators, facilitating performance improvements to achieve desired outcomes in a timely manner.
- Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to drive process enhancements and boost efficiency.
- Develop comprehensive business cases using data collection from multiple distribution centers, conducting analyses that generate strategic and tactical insights, and securing necessary approvals and resources to implement changes.
- Engage, mentor, train, and influence business partners to extend the security framework by equipping them with knowledge to identify potential security risks and educating them on the appropriate escalation procedures.
- Assist in investigations related to internal and external theft and fraud, conducting interviews as necessary.
- Leverage tools and data analysis, collaborating with internal partners to identify inventory discrepancies and formulate strategic plans to mitigate losses.
- Inspire excellence in performance among all security team members and third-party vendors, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for all internal and external partners, promoting and implementing security best practices.
- Effectively partner with internal customers to evaluate current and future security services, processes, and initiatives.
- Recruit, hire, develop, and retain candidates who elevate the performance standards of the security organization as needed.
- Possess the ability to motivate team members into action, fostering their commitment to the organization’s vision and values, and influencing all stakeholders accordingly.
- Plan, implement, execute, and manage incident response strategies.
- Address loss mitigation, physical security considerations, and potential workplace violence incidents in accordance with policy.
- Travel may be required up to 25% domestically.
This role encompasses a 24/7 operation, requiring flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Work in an industrial setting that necessitates walking up to 5 miles daily and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations.
A Day in the Life:
This position may involve overseeing a single site at a large fulfillment center or managing multiple locations.
The Security Operations Site Supervisor conducts and executes investigations related to internal and external theft and fraud, conducting interviews as needed.
This team member will identify, promote, and implement security best practices at designated sites, as well as recruit, hire, develop, and retain candidates who elevate performance standards.
This role directly supports staffing efforts for open security positions within the network by participating in candidate screenings and hiring processes.
Serve as the subject matter expert for physical security, inventory controls, processes, and technology at designated sites.Provide regular feedback and communication to ensure team members understand and align their performance with the vision and values of the department.
Coordinate data collection through database polling or data entry from sites and conduct analyses to generate strategic responses.The Security Operations Site Supervisor will develop business cases for the sites that receive the necessary approvals, financial and technical resources, and support from management to implement desired changes.

Global Security Operations (GSO) is the global organization that supports field security and is designed to enhance Amazon's Worldwide Operations, as well as affiliate and retail businesses, by creating and maintaining a secure work environment through global security centers of excellence staffed by experts in people and asset protection.
We achieve this by establishing policy and implementation guidelines; training leadership and staff; utilizing technology to eliminate subjectivity, complexity, and variation; identifying, preparing for, and mitigating risks; and auditing our practices to ensure compliance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years of relevant professional or military experience.
- 2+ years of experience in law enforcement, security management, risk management, supply chain management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in data collection and root cause analysis.
- 2+ years of experience in people management.
- 1+ years of experience with MS Office Professional Suite, including data manipulation and analysis in Excel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma concepts is desirable, and certification such as PMP is a plus.
- Experience with databases (querying and analyzing) such as SQL, MYSQL, Access, Exception Based Reporting, etc.
- Familiarity with security equipment such as intrusion detection devices, access control systems, and video review systems.
- Experience in various business types, including logistics, warehousing, distribution centers, and multi-site security management.
- Interviewing and interrogation experience, such as Wicklander and Zulawski, LPQ, CPP, LPC, CFI, or other related certifications.
- Experience in workplace violence and/or business continuity.
