Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will work independently under general direction to address laboratory needs as they arise. Key responsibilities include performing and assessing clinical laboratory tests on specimens for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in monitoring and compliance of organization's Service Standards by laboratory employees.
- Process Microbiology specimens from pre- to post-analytical phase.
- Prepare specimens to be tested; perform manual and automated tests on blood, urine, and body fluids according to established laboratory procedures.
- Analyze, interpret, and report test results.
- Monitor test equipment, solutions, and work environment by following Laboratory Quality Control Procedures, ensuring the overall reliability of test results.
- Assist with inventory management.
- Efficiently adapt to changes to facilitate adequate staffing and effective demonstration of identifying and acting on priorities in a timely manner.
- Train new and current employees.
- Ensure adherence to and maintain one of the following areas: Safety procedures and technical manuals.
- Participate in in-services, continuing education courses, and complete 12 CE credits per year.
- Valid license as a clinical laboratory technologist issued by the NYSED.
- One year of full-time paid experience as a technologist performing pertinent tests and analyses in a clinical laboratory as defined in Title V, Section 57 1 of the New York State Public Health Law.
