The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at Inova is in search of a skilled ICU Registered Nurse. This full-time role involves working three 12-hour shifts with a day/night rotation. The CICU is a dynamic critical care setting that prioritizes collaboration, exceptional patient care, and offers numerous educational opportunities to foster the professional development of our nursing staff. Our high-achieving nursing team collaborates closely with a range of highly trained medical professionals, including Cardiac Intensivists, Medical Intensivists, Interventionalists, and Cardiologists.

Our specialized patient population encompasses, but is not limited to:
- Management of unstable STEMI cases and post-PCI/PTCA recovery, acting as the STEMI response team for the facility.
- Complex management of cardiac arrest and cardiogenic shock, including therapeutic hypothermia, CRRT, ECMO, Impella, and IABP therapies.
- Advanced heart failure management, utilizing traditional LVAD therapies, Heartmate, Heartware, and cutting-edge percutaneous VAD devices (Tandem Heart).
- Management of complex arrhythmias, including care for intricate laser-assisted lead removal for PPM/AICD replacement and transvenous pacemakers.
- Advanced therapies for pulmonary hypertension, including Remodulin and Veletri.

- A minimum of 1 year of RN clinical experience in a Critical Care environment or completion of a Critical Care fellowship. 2 years of Critical Care/Cardiac RN experience is strongly preferred.
- Education - BSN from an accredited nursing program. If the RN holds an Associate Degree (ADN), they must complete their BSN within 24 months of starting.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification is required, and ACLS is strongly preferred (must be obtained within the first 3 months).
- RN licensed or eligible to practice as an RN.
- Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate a caring attitude towards others.
