About the Speech Therapist Level II Role

Kaiser Permanente, a leading not-for-profit health plan, seeks an experienced Speech Therapist Level II to join our team in San Carlos, California.

Job Summary:

This role requires a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to provide diagnosis and treatment of complex communication disorders. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and oversee the work of entry-level staff while supporting community programs.



About the Position:

We are seeking a highly qualified professional with a minimum of two years of experience as a Speech Therapist. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology and hold a valid Speech-Language Pathologist License in California. Additionally, they must possess Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate and Basic Life Support certification at hire.


  • Evaluate and administer diagnostic tests to adults and children with various communication disorders, voice, and swallowing impairments, and neurological defects. Provide individualized treatment plans and advise physicians and member/caregiver on test results.

  • Collaborate with physicians to develop and modify treatment plans. Train junior therapists and participate in developing inservice programs for staff development. Monitor contract therapists and patient care in non-Kaiser facilities. Serve as a consultant on interdisciplinary teams.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain department policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Identify opportunities to contain costs and improve services. Assist with community programs.


Requirements:
  • Minimum two (2) years of previous experience as a Speech Therapist.

  • Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology.

  • Speech-Language Pathologist License (California).

  • National Provider Identifier.

  • Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate.

  • Basic Life Support required at hire.


The estimated annual salary range for this position is $83,900 - $144,800, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages that promote employee growth and well-being.
